Looking for ways to bring the love of reading and writing into your classroom this summer? Collaborate as a class to write stories that are fun, engaging, and expand understanding of a content area with the Digital Class Book EduProtocol!
Students collaborate and create a shared class book using a slide deck. Each student writes one page or one part of the book, or two students can write a section together. Write, publish, present, (and print if you want)!
We love this protocol because students can use a slide format and it is easy to implement!
Steps:
1. Decide on a prompt or question to get students thinking. Example: "To be a kid means to..." using the book, To Be a Kid, by Maya Ajmera and John D. Ivanko.
2. Create a class slide deck (or decks for smaller groups), with enough slides for each student. Example templates link:
Canva (make a copy)
3. Share the slide deck with students (on Google Classroom).
