Hello again, this is Craig Tornquist, one of your Summer School EdTech TOSAs back with another tip to help you magically erase backgrounds in photos. Before you say, "I already have a website that I love that helps me remove backgrounds", I have to ask, is your background removing website cleared for use with student images and approved for use in Ceres by our Educational Technology Specialists? If you answered "I'm not sure" or "I don't know", let me reassure you that Canva is approved and easy to use!
The first thing you will need to do is upload your image into Canva. After signing in to Canva, you will find the Upload button in the upper right just under your profile image.
After the upload is complete, you will be given the following options, "Edit photo" or "Use in a design"
Click on Edit photo, then click directly on the photo to bring up the following menu, where you will click "Edit image".
Click on Background Remover and magically remove the background of your image with one click! (if you don't count all the previous clicks, anyway)
Just think of all of the great uses for removing backgrounds from photos for use in classroom assignments, slides, and other projects!
Just in case the tool didn't get the background removed 100% to your liking, there are two additional tools available to you before saving.
Once your background has been removed, the final step is to download the image for use in other projects. Just click the Share button in the upper right corner, and you are given the following set of options:
Make sure to download with File type PNG and select Transparent Background, as indicated below before clicking Download.
Have fun using your background free images to make your documents, presentations, and projects look amazing!
