On the Seventh Day of Tech-mas...

Updated: May 31, 2023

On the seventh day of Tech-mas, my EdTechs shared with me...

how to build-a-book with student names in the story!

Build-A-Book is a great resource for teachers to create and use engaging books during small group reading instruction to help with engagement. There are a few books within the ranges A-I. You just choose a book, enter the student's first name, print and create books to mix into small group ELA/guided reading.

The website is constantly updated with new books and even holiday books! There is currently a book about Hanukkah, Evergreen Trees, and Santa’s Workshop! Sometimes they even have books in Spanish. You can access the website by clicking this link: BookBuilder Online.

Here is an example of book that can be created for students: PDF of Book Level C.

One small caveat: This website is only approved for teacher use. Unfortunately, students cannot access this website due to student data privacy concerns. When using this tool, please make sure only first names are used with no other student personal identifying information.

Merry Tech-mas!
