On the 12th day of Tech-mas, this is what I did:
I sent all of my wishes to Flipgrid.
To celebrate the final day of Tech-mas, we'd like to shine our spotlight on one of our very favorite web tools: Flipgrid. If you haven't tried Flipgrid with your students yet, now is an excellent time to start.
Here's how it works: You create a topic which contains a prompt. Then, your students log in to your topic and use their Chromebook's built-in camera and microphone to make a brief video response. The students' responses are posted side-by-side on a single page called a Grid, where everyone can watch their videos each other's responses to each post.
You can always create your own Flipgrid topics and prompts, but you can also use pre-made, vetted topics that other teachers have shared at Flipgrid Discovery. Our favorite featured topic is the Holiday Wishes. If you're already logged into your Flipgrid account, you can access the Holiday Wishes topic here.
To learn more about Flipgrid, check out their Resources page, which includes detailed instructions to help you get started.
Our friends at the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) Badge Project are offering a Flipgrid Badge to any teacher who uses the program. To learn more about the Flipgrid Badge, click on the badge to the left or this link. The SCOE Badge Project is a great way to earn recognition for your professional technology use. In addition to proudly displaying your badges, you can also be entered into monthly prize drawings.

We'd like to thank everyone who joined us for the 12 Days of Tech-mas. Many of the tools we've featured over the past 12 days can be tweaked and used throughout the year. As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts about all things EdTech!
Wherever you work, and whatever your role as an educator, and wherever your Holiday travels take you, we hope you have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable Winter Break. Our profession isn't always easy and we thank you for all the work you do for the students of Ceres Unified. We look forward to seeing you back in 2019!
