On the 9th day of Tech-mas, my joy I could not hide....these tips that help with every Google Slide!

3 Creative Time-Saving Tips for Google Slides

Did you ever think you would be creating as many slides as you are now? Most teachers are using Slides daily to create lessons for in-person learning as well as distance learning. Here are some of my favorite tips that save me a lot of time. I hope they help.

Tip #1

Did you know that you can customize a slide presentation to any size? This gives you the flexibility of creating a worksheet template or photo template. I often create customized worksheets for my students using an 8 ½ by 11 portrait size slide. You may also duplicate the slide and edit to vary the content. When you have completed your work, you can download it as a pdf or jpeg. In addition, you can just simply print which slide you want.

Tip #2

Are you trying to add a bit of fun to your slides to make them more engaging? One of the easiest things you can do is add a GIF (pronounced like “Jif” peanut butter!). The fastest way to do this is to open a new tab and search for one. When you have found the GIF you want, simply drag into the tab where your slide is. Easy as can be!

Tip #3

If you want to add a photo into a Slides presentation, you can use your phone to save some time. Here’s how it works. First, you need to download Google Drive and Google Slides to your phone. In Drive, open the Slides presentation you want to add a picture to on your phone. Press the + button and choose Image. This will allow you to add a picture from your photo library on your phone or take a picture right from your phone. It will upload directly to your Slides presentation.
