On the 1st Day of Tech-mas...

Updated: May 31, 2023

On the First Day of Tech-mas, my EdTechs showed me how… to hide my shared-drive clutter right now!

Shared drives have made it easier than ever to collaborate with colleagues and place team documents in one, easy-to-access location. However, some shared drives may become dusty and rarely used, if ever. It is time to ask yourself, “Does this drive spark joy?”

A new Google update has provided users the ability to hide shared drives, leaving only the shared drives that are frequently accessed. In order to hide a shared drive, right-click on the drive and select, “Hide shared drive.”

You will notice the drive disappear from the list of your shared drives. If you need to access the shared drive that you have just hidden, you can view them by toggling to your hidden shared drives by clicking the text, “Hidden shared drives” in the top-right corner.

The increase of digital documents and resources requires an effective work-flow and organization. This tip helps you organize (hide) shared drives, making it easier to access needed resources when opening them or posting to Google Classroom.

Now I just need a way to hide the people who keep sharing these drives with me in the first place!
