Number Talks with Jamboard

Have you been attempting to still have number talks with your class during distance learning? It is not quite the same as when students are in class. Or would you like to have a document that shows your students' math thinking? If so, Jamboard can help with that!

What is Jamboard, you ask? Well, Jamboard is basically a digital whiteboard. As the teacher, you can preload the number talk picture into the Jamboard that you want your students to mark up. Within a Jamboard assignment students can write, draw, insert notes in a post-it box, and add text boxes to type in explanations. The best part, Jamboard is part of Google! You can make Jamboard files directly in Google Drive! After making the Jamboard, you can assign each student their own copy in Google Classroom. It is very easy to use as a teacher and a student.

I have been using Jamboard with my students for number talks both in distance learning and also in the classroom. But, because of how easy it is to use, there are an unlimited number of ways you can start using Jamboard in your classroom. I have seen examples of it being used for exit tickets and even collaboration between students.

So, if you are looking for something new to spruce up those number talks (or any other idea you might have) then check out Jamboard today!
